BABY SUNSCREEN PACKAGING DESIGN

OVERVIEW

Sunni is a product line of skin care products made to protect a baby’s sensitive skin from the adverse effects of the sun. The design direction is soft and approachable with bright colors which embody the warm feeling of sun on your skin.

DEMOGRAPHIC

Sunni is a quality sunscreen marketed towards new mothers. These first time parents are more likely to purchase a more upscale product to ensure that they aren’t exposing their child to anything harmful.

PROTOTYPE PROCESS

Prototypes were made by sanding and priming the plain plastic containers. Using vinyl stencils, multiple layers of custom mixed paint were applied. The containers were then sprayed with an automotive clear coat for durability.

MERCHANDISING

These products can be found at any grocery store or department store. The cool blue and sophisticated typography are complemented by the vibrant SunniTM colors which catch the eye as well as line the boxes to give the consumer a warm welcome as they unbox their product.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

This was a great opportunity to use the knowledge I acquired from years of painting for something other than game controllers. Stylistically, this differs from the typical look and feel of my other projects. Its success gave me affirmation of my stylistic range.
