SUPERS
Supers are unique abilities that players choose to gain advantages during a game. Depending on power, supers take different amounts of time to charge. Players can charge their supers more quickly by making difficult ground shots.
STAGES
The stages in Layup Legends vary in size, platform placement, basket placement, and wall size. These factors affect the effectiveness of supers, ease of recovery, and difficulty when scoring.
MOVESET
GROUNDED MOVES
Attacks that can be performed when not holding the ball. Pressing attack while on the ground throws the ball.
AERIAL MOVES
Attacks that can be performed when not holding the ball. Pressing attack while in the air performs a downward angled dunk.
USER INTERFACE
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
This is the collaborative flow chart used by my partner and I to organize our thoughts. Here, we listed the different options for various parts of the user flow so that we could make sure we had the necessary assets.
EARLY DEVELOPMENT
KEY TAKEAWAYS
When making this game, I had no previous experience in illustration or traditional animation, but I was the only artist my friend knew. I studied existing animation and pixel art to create basic assets. Over time, I was able to better understand how these things work and create improved visual content for the game.
